The Best Teas for Iced Tea and How to Make Your Own

The Best Teas for Iced Tea and How to Make Your Own | The Little Homeplace

Well friend, its that time of year again.

A mason jar of iced tea is basically an extension of my arm from May until September. I'll blame my mom for this one because she's the one that got me started on it. She just might be the only person that loves it more than I do.

Actually, I take that back. Mom and the farmer are probably tied. That guy can down the stuff like nobody's business.

Anyway, since we're on the subject, I thought I would share with you a few of my current favorite teas to use for iced tea...

Celestial Seasonings Red Velvet Rooibos Tea -

I have two words for you. RED. VELVET. Need I say more? When I choose a darker, stronger tea to ice, I usually pick one with a creamy vanilla, or vanilla spice flavor. Why? Well, because it's delicious. This one even has a hint of cocoa in it too. You really can't go wrong.

Quick Tip: Another reason why I love vanilla/vanilla spice flavored teas is because they mix well with fruity teas like the peach or bramblewine listed below. Just plop all the tea bags in the boiling water together and you have created a new flavor!

Bigelow Perfect Peach Herbal Tea -

This tea is my go-to, and one of Ryan's favorites. It has a wonderful fruity flavor that is sweet all on its own. Since it's an herbal tea, there is no caffeine in it so you can enjoy any time of the day or night!

Bigelow Green Tea with Blueberry and Acai -

If you're a fan of green tea, you'll love this. Perfect if you're looking for an afternoon pick-me-up or a chilled replacement for your morning cup of joe with a little zing to it.

Trader Joe's Organic Ginger Pear White Tea -

The flavor of this tea is fresh and fairly subtle, so it pairs great with meals. I love ginger, but sometimes it can be a bit overpowering. Not so with this blend. The pear adds enough sweetness to balance it out nicely without covering it up.

Tazo Organic Bramblewine -

I'll be honest with you. I picked this one up on clearance for CHEAP. Because it was marked down so low and there were so many boxes left I wasn't too sure it would be very tasty, but I was pleasantly surprised! It's like a spoonful of your favorite berry jam in liquid form.

Do you have a favorite iced tea? If so, please share!
