I have been looking forward to this day for quite a while. I know you have too, friend.
Do you ever start a project, thinking it will be quick and easy, only to find out you had greatly underestimated time/effort/money/etc. it would take to accomplish? That is so me. Every time.
Deciding to freshen up The Little Homeplace was no exception.
But, now things are back up and running and I couldn't be happier about it.
There are still a few tweaks that I plan on making over the next few weeks, but nothing too drastic. And don't worry, I won't be shutting the website down again! I just absolutely couldn't wait any longer to get back at it.
So. You may be wondering why on earth I decided to change things up. I definitely had my moments of wondering that too!
Well, first of all, I needed to take a step back and really reevaluate my priorities, both personal and business. I needed to distance myself a little bit and think about why I'm doing this. What do I want to accomplish through this? Do I even want to continue working at it? Is this the direction God wants me to go with my life?
It didn't take long for me to realize that I love this little space and all you dear friends too much to quit.
Once that had been confirmed in my mind, I started to think about how I could better encourage you and include more of the things we both love here for us to enjoy together.
I gave it a lot of thought, I asked your opinion, I filled a notebook up with notes and ideas, I read a few different books, and it all finally came together.
Friend, this is the new direction The Little Homeplace is heading:
More simplicity. I'm an old fashioned kind of gal. I don't like complicated things, fake things, or uneccesary things. I'd rather make or grow something instead of buying it. I avoid stress, counter-productive busyness, and clutter as much as possible. The more conversations I have with people about minimalism and getting back to the basics, the more I realize how much we crave it, especially in our American society. In the wife/homemaker sphere I have noticed this movement gaining speed, and with good reason. Who needs more things to do, more clutter in the home, and more distractions from the important things in life? Not me! I'm excited to explore this lifestyle and way of thinking with you, friend.
More natural health, living, and homemaking. I get asked questions about these topics ALL. THE. TIME. And you know what? I don't mind that at all because it is one of they are my most favorite things to talk about. In the coming months, you can expect to see more recipes for healthy, nourishing meals, natural remedies, household uses for essential oils, as well as some of my go-to products that I use on a regular basis. If you have any specific questions or interests you would like me to write about, leave a comment below and let me know!
More encouragement. Okay, this isn't new to The Little Homeplace, but there will be more of it because that's what this place is for. It's the reason I started the blog and shop, and it's the reason I can't quit. We all need a place to land when we are weary. Many times that place is home. It's a place where you feel safe, welcome, nourished, and rested. I want The Little Homeplace to be that kind of home for you, my friend.
Well, there you have it! I hope you're as excited as I am to start this new season here. Is there something specific that you're looking forward to? Leave a comment below and let's chat!
