oh hey friday | life update

Well hello there!

Can I just say a quick little something? It has been FAR too long since we have spoken and it is entirely my fault.

I promise I didn't mean to leave you hanging like that, friend. Life just has a way of happening so quickly and so busily sometimes. I'm sure you know the feeling.

Here's a little bit about what I've been up to the past few weeks...

1. Family visits. In the beginning of September my grandparents came to visit along with my aunt and uncle and their three kids. We squeezed them all into our house and it was fantastic. There's just something about piles of shoes by the door, making a dozen scrambled eggs for breakfast, and catching up on overdue hugs that fills my heart to the brim.
Then, at the end of September, my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Mark stopped by for a few days on their way back from Wyoming. It was so good to catch up with them and show them around while they were here.

2. A new job. If you follow me on Instagram you'll know that I recently started a part time job at a new local coffee shop called the Copper Café. Before I began working I knew next to nothing about coffee. I could steep some of my favorite cold brew, but that's pretty much it. I couldn't even brew a pot of coffee in my coffee maker. No joke. But I've been working for four weeks now and I can make all kinds of delicious espresso drinks. It's so much fun. If you're ever in the area stop on by and order a hot drink so I can practice my latte art!

3. Business. Even though I have a second job now, The Little Homeplace shop is still up and running! Things have really started to pick up over the last few weeks and it has been so exciting to watch my wee business grow. It was a little crazy for a week or two when I started working, (Trying to balance 2 jobs as well as taking care of a home and a husband can be a little tricky!) but I'm starting to feel like things are settling into a good routine. Whew!
P.S. Keep your eyes peeled for new fall signs coming next week!

4. Fall. Friends, it is fall. I grew up in California and I had never truly experienced fall until I moved to Idaho. It is absolutely glorious. The mornings are crisp, harvest is wrapping up, trees put on their festive colors, and I have an excuse to add delicious things like pumpkin, persimmons, and pomegranates to all of my cooking and baking. Don't you just love this time of the year, friend?

5. 2 year anniversary. On October 5th the farmer and I celebrated 2 years of being married. My how time does fly! I know it's a little late, but I'm going to share a few pictures with you anyway because it was the best day ever.
