oh hey, friday! | my mama and the ants in my garden

Today is Friday. And you know what that means...

Time for me to talk about five random things!

I don't know about you, but talking about random things is my jam. So let's get to it.

1. Mama is here to visit. She is one of my all time favorite people in the whole wide world. If you haven't met her yet, you need to. She's just one of those people that makes everything more fun. She laughs easy, cries during Hallmark movies, and adventure always finds her whether she's looking for it or not. It's hard to live far away from her, but having her here all to myself for a few days *almost* makes up for it.

2. The laundry room. When Mom comes to visit we like to work on projects. This time we are giving our laundry and mud room a little facelift! Since moving in, we haven't really done much to this room but, just like every other room in our house, it needs some sprucing up! I can't wait to show you how it turns out!

3. Ants and weeds. They are taking over my garden. Thankfully weeds are something I can take care of easily with a little work, but ants are a totally different ballgame. We've sprayed several times and hosed them off of the plants but they just keep coming back! They completely decimated some of my seedlings when they were first coming up and now they are feasting away on my tomato plants. It is very sad. Any tips from you fellow gardeners? Have you ever had this problem?

4. Smoothies. Did you know that I love them? Well I do. In my book they are the perfect breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, etc. Basically I guess I'm saying that I'll eat them anytime for any meal. Now that it's summer, a smoothie is ALWAYS my go-to when I'm hungry. Now you might think I'm weird, but I like to add some things into my blender that wouldn't normally go in there like leafy greens, coconut oil, vitamins, or coconut water. I know it sounds crazy, but its delicious. Trust me. Here is a recipe for my current favorite:

1 frozen banana
1 handful frozen strawberries
1 handful frozen blueberries
1-2 handfuls fresh or frozen spinach
1 cup greek yoghurt
2 spoonfuls nut butter of choice (I like almond or peanut)
1-3 cups almond milk (you can also use soy or dairy milk)

Blend and enjoy!

5. Great is Thy Faithfulness. This song is one of my favorite songs of all time. The past few days it has been playing over and over in my head and I don't mind it one bit. I have been thinking a lot lately about how much God has provided for my husband and I. I am overwhelmed by His goodness and faithfulness. Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand hath provided.;Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! I really couldn't say it better than that.

Have a wonderful weekend, friend!
