Well howdy, friend! Long time no talk!
How's life? What have you been up to? Read any good books lately? How's the weather where you're at? (It's required that I ask you that last question. It's in the farmer's wife contract, you know.)
Me? Oh, I've been doing well. We're finally having some nice warm weather here in Idaho, so that makes me happy. Don't get me wrong, I like winter too. Especially Idaho winters. With SNOW. It's such a restful time, something you learn to appreciate when you're married to a hard workin' man.
However, I just have to say, summer is where it's at. I'll take bare feet over snow boots any day of the week.
Anyway, let's get back on track here.
I want to tell you about our neighbor. Her name is Janice. She lives just down the road from us in the cutest red house you ever did see. She has 4 little horses, 2 goats, a handful of chickens, and some ducks.
This week she was gone on a trip so I had the privilege of taking care of her house and barnyard. I've done this several times for her, and I just have to say that it is always the highlight of my day.
I mean, take a look at this face. I can hardly stand it.
These little guys are always happy to see me. It's probably because they're hungry, but I like to think that we're friends. Haha!
But my favorite animals might have to be the ducks. They are very loud, slightly impatient, and get quite excited when I let them out in the morning or put them away at night.
I think I might need to persuade Ryan to get a few...
As an added bonus, it's just as much fun to take pictures of her yard as it is her critters.
So there you have it! A few snapshots of the company I've keeping this past week. They're a pretty good lookin' bunch if you ask me.
A special thanks to you, my sweet neighbor Janice, for allowing me to take these photos and use them on my blog! Now a few others can enjoy your beautiful flowers and adorable animals as much as I do! :-)
